Vectorized Map: Kansas City
Computer Design 2, Spring 2022
The objective for this project was to create a vectorized map of a place that is meaningful to me. Once this project was handed to me, I could immediately picture the place I wanted to recreate; Kansas City.
I have a deep connection with Kansas City, both Kansas and Missouri, for as long as I can remember. Since I was born there, I was able to choose six of my most memorable places. I used a limited color palette of red and three different shades of blue to give it a complete look. Children's Mercy Park is the place I often spend most of my time, so I chose these colors based on that. Also, I wanted to show my view of the difference between the city streets and the more rural parts by using a grid and an oversimplified environment.
