Handmade Typeface: HUEN
Advanced Problems in Graphic Design 1 / Fall 2022
The objective for this project was to create a new typeface combining non-traditional materials and a classical typeface. Every letter and number should have recognizable characteristics while making sure the type is still readable.
I chose to use Goudy by Frederic W. Goudy as the base of my letterforms. The materials used were Cra-Z-Art crayons arranged in a cohesive layout while making every form unique. After the construction, I photographed the letters and then brought them into Photoshop to color correct and remove their backgrounds.
